Harrison F. Carter

Author & Teacher

A warm welcome to you.

I am a published author and teacher with over fifteen years of academic experience - professionally qualified to teach a range of specialist programmes of education for children, young people and adults. I hope that you will find the content of this website to be of interest and of value in seeking to support and enrich your child’s education.

As you will see, the website has been divided into five areas of specialism, but essentially, each component of it is connected by my educational philosophy that young people will benefit most from a programme of learning that is engaging, creative, holistic and responsive in its approach.

All of my programmes have been professionally and thoughtfully designed - being suitable and adaptable for young people and adults of any age or ability.

Key features:

- As an author, I am well-equipped to help inspire young people and adults to develop and utilise their imagination and creative abilities. These qualities are highly beneficial, both in education and in the world of employment, where the ability to think creatively and alternatively is a much sought-after asset.

- As a tutor, I offer support for the teaching of the UK-based English curriculum, and of English as an Additional Language (EAL), providing one-to-one tuition that helps students to develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening abilities.

- Being both an author and a teacher, I offer creative writing workshops for either small groups or individuals, depending upon requirements. Participants develop skills of expression, initiative, creativity and teamwork. The workshops promote the undertaking of altruistic endeavours that are advanced by ventures of creativity, of intellect and of spirit.

- As a teacher of wellbeing, my workshops are designed to help young people and adults to improve their sense of wellbeing through a thoughtful, holistic & caring practice that promotes a more positive outlook and approach, increases concentration, productivity and achievement whilst simultaneously reducing levels of stress.

- I am also a professionally qualified Visual Impairment Specialist, providing programmes that equip visually impaired people with skills for independence, safety and wellbeing – whilst simultaneously creating equal opportunities to help them to engage fully in society.

Sessions can be delivered in schools, at home, the workplace or any other environment of your choosing - whichever suits your requirements best.

If you would like to arrange a meeting, make a booking, or have any questions, feel free to get in touch and I will endeavour to help.

Author biography

I graduated from university before going on to spend several years travelling and searching for a way of life that would feel purposeful and worthwhile. It was during this time, in the giant sequoia forests of northern California, that I began writing my first novel, 'The Roots of Elmore's Existence', which was published in 2016. Following its release, I then spent several years working with young people on educational and environmental projects, becoming an advocate of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. During this time, I was published in several magazines and publications, including Rotary, TES, Universe and Educate, sharing educational philosophies and enterprising initiatives to engage young people in meaningful and rewarding creative endeavours. This work took me to the United Nations building in Geneva, in 2017, and to the Houses of Parliament in the UK, in 2018 and 2019.

Since 2019, I have lived and worked in Malaysia, and now currently reside in Germany, working on a book of fables - a series of children's stories, titled 'Once Upon Our World', which has just been published
As part of my work as an author, I also deliver creative writing workshops to young people, sharing knowledge and experience to help them to not only develop their English literacy, but to also discover their own love for all forms of writing and storytelling.
